Other than Kanimozhi the other accused who have been granted bail include Karim Morani, Sharath Kumar, Asif Balwa and Rajeev Agarwal.

New Delhi: Describing the 2G scam a "special kind of crime", Law Minister Salman Khurshid opn Monday said courts dealing with such cases were proceeding with caution, and DMK MP Kanimozhi was granted bail according to the rule.

Reacting to Kanimozhi being granted bail by the Delhi High Court, Khurshid said matters with regard to the case have to proceed now and that the trial would continue.

"Bail is a normal course. According to the rule, people have got bail. There is no connection of investigation in it. Investigation is over," he told reporters on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi.

"Frankly, these are very special kinds of crime. Financial crime is different from crime of passion, of the normal kind. In modern times with modern technology and the ability of financial transaction to reach well beyond national borders, the courts are concerned and therefore both in terms of volumes and the integrity of impact of such crimes the court proceed with some caution," he said.

On DMK leaders' being concerned over Kanimozhi not getting bail till Monday, the Law Minister said they were "certainly concerned as we were".

"They were concerned that the leaders have been charged. Everyone has a point of view and whether these charges are justified or not," he said.

Their priority was that their leaders should get bail, he said "but there was never any conditionality."
