Months after Telangana government planned to increase the salaries of MLAs and MLCs in view of their "grossly inadequate" pay structure by 400%, the legislators have now put forward more demands before a committee.
They have demanded plots and houses in Hyderabad, citing that they come from other cities. They have even demanded that more money be allocated to them for buying vehicles.
The development comes when the government is planning to hike the salaries of Telangana legislators by a whopping 400%. A final decision on the hike is yet to be taken.
Congress MLA Chinna Reddy said that the salary hike decision was unanimously taken in the meeting. "We said even if basic salary not hiked, other expenses that incur should be paid. Now, the it will go to the cabinet to decide", he said.
