BSP says Amar Singh is suffering from mental bankruptcy.

Jaunpur: With an FIR lodged in Kanpur charging him and others with a financial fraud to the tune of Rs 500 crore, Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh on Monday said he and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan had been framed at the behest of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.

"Mayawati is baffled because of her own failures. Her own misdeeds have been exposed by the Supreme Court. Therefore, she got a fake case registered against me and Amitabh Bachchan," the SP leader said addressing an election meeting here in view of the forthcoming Assembly by-elections in the state.

The Bollywood actor's name also appears in the 14-page police complaint lodged in Kanpur.

"State police is working on the directives of the Chief Minister and the SP workers are being harassed most" he said and threatened to avenge the atrocities on them at the right time.

Describing the ruling BSP in Uttar Pradesh and Congress as the two sides of the same coin, the SP leader said, "While Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi is visiting Dalits' houses and is sharing food with them, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is playing into the hands of Chief Minister Mayawati."

Reacting to his statements, state BSP chief Swami Prasad Maurya said Amar Singh is suffering from "mental bankruptcy".

Accusing him of being involved in the allotment of Noida plots, he said Amar Singh should look at himself before levelling false allegations against others.

Referring to SP leader's accusation that he was being framed in a flase case, Maurya said state government has nothing to do with the FIR.
