Kochi: Lashing out at Defence Minister A K Antony, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan on Friday said he was a hypocrite and his clean image was only a "mask" to hoodwink the people.
"While Antony had resigned from the Union cabinet on an earlier occasion after certain allegations were leveled against him on the sugar scam, he did not even apologise to the nation following the Adarsh flat scam," Achuthanandan told a meet-the-press programme in Kochi.
The Chief Minister said it was the previous UDF government headed by Oommen Chandy which had diverted Tsunami funds and not the LDF government as alleged by Congress President Sonia Gandhi during her campaign in Kerala on Thursday.
Asked about the investigation against P Sasi, CPM's former Kannur district secretary, who was removed from the post following allegations of sexual harassment, he said investigation was going on. "I do not have to tell the media who is conducting the investigations and other details," he said.
On the complaint filed by Latika Subash, Congress candidate from Malampuzha, with the Election Commission against him for his reported derogatory remarks, Achuthanandan hoped the EC would take appropriate action on his counter that his words had been misinterpreted.
