Raipur: BJP President Amit Shah on Monday said that it is his party which has given the nation a "Prime Minister who speaks". He also criticised Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for questioning as to what has the party done since they came to power.
“BJP has given a Prime Minister who speaks and considers the nation’s problem as personal. Rahul 'baba' questions us what BJP government has done in last two and half years; the government has waged war against corruption and indulged in not a single case of corruption," said Shah.
Amit Shah was speaking at the science ground in Raipur at the completion of 13 years of Raman Singh government.
He further alleged that Congress-led UPA government was involved in corruption to the tune of Rs 12 lakh crore.
The Opposition has been constantly questioning what the BJP government has done, but after November 8 (when demonetisation was introduced) they started saying why the government has done this, said Shah, elaborating that the move has created tension in the Opposition ranks.
PM and the party was pained by seeing people standing in long queues after demonetisation, but operation against corruption and black money was necessary, added the BJP President.
Shah said the black money received by the government after demonetisation will be used in welfare schemes for farmers, tribal and women.
Shah also pointed out that during the tenure of Congress-led UPA government, army personnel had to look towards Delhi for taking action against Pakistan;but in Modi-led government, Indian Army is retaliating strongly against Pakistan Army.
Shah also mentioned the surgical strike carried out by Indian Army post the Uri terror attack.
Calling on public to work hard, and creating awareness among people about the achievements of the government (at centre and Chhattisgarh), Shah highlighted various schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“BJP never does politics based on caste related issues, instead, the party focuses on performance,” said Shah, adding that this is the reason BJP registered consecutive victories in different states.
He also expressed confidence of recording a thumping victory for BJP in Chhattisgarh in the upcoming election.
“Chhattisgarh, which was once considered as backward state has under the leadership of Chief Minister Raman Singh, in last 13 years, managed to get a seat in the list of developed states; Raman Singh-led government has carried out remarkable development in villages," said Shah.
Infant mortality rate, maternal mortality rate and malnutrition in Chhattisgarh has declined significantly, pointed Shah.
BJP President also pointed out that Chhattisgarh will soon get free from Naxalism due to the bold steps taken by Raman Singh. The Chhattisgarh government has carried out developmental works in insurgency-hit districts.
