BJP rules out poll pact with BSP, SP
The comments came in the wake of Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi's bouquet presentation to BSP chief Mayawati on her birthday.

New Delhi: BJP President Rajnath Singh on Wednesday ruled out possibility of any alliance with the BSP before or after the Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh.

Quoting the presentation of bouquet to Mayawati just a courtesy, as quoted by PTI, Singh said, "There is no question of an alliance with the BSP or the SP before or after the polls".

"When I was the Chief Minister, I met Mulayam Singh Yadav on such occasions out of courtesy," Singh said.

His comments came in the wake of party leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi's bouquet presentation to BSP chief Mayawati on her 51st birthday on Monday.

Naqvi's move had created an apprehension that it could be an attempt by the BJP to forge an alliance with the BSP for the upcoming state elections.

The BJP's canvassing in Uttar Pradesh percolates down to booth level, said Singh, who has set his party on door-to-door campaign mode for the upcoming elections in several states.

"We believed that the ground realities are far different from what appears in newspapers. Therefore our workers are in a campaign mode that goes down to the booth level," he said.
