Charges to be framed in Bihar MLA murder case
Purnia BJP MLA Raj Kishore Keshri was allegedly stabbed to death by school teacher Rupam Pathak.

Patna: A CBI court on Wednesday fixed June 10 as the date for framing of charges against Rupam Pathak, a school teacher, in connection with Purnia BJP MLA Raj Kishore Keshri murder case. Designated CBI Judge Basant Kumar Singh fixed the date for framing of charges for speedy trial on conclusion of hearing in the case.

The CBI had on April 2 filed charge sheet against her under section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder). Pathak had allegedly stabbed to death Kesari at his house at Purnia on January 4, 2011.

The supporters of Keshri caught her and beat her mercilessly before handing her over to police.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had on January 8 recommended a CBI probe into the case following a written request by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who three days after giving a clean chit to the dead legislator had taken a U-turn.

He had urged Kumar to order a CBI investigation into the case as people would doubt the Bihar police findings since Keshri was a ruling party MLA.
