61. Chitrakoot is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Satna Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Chitrakoot falls in Satna district and Vindhya Pradesh region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.

There are a total of 1,99,436 voters in the seat, which includes 1,07,792 male voters, and 91,644 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Chitrakoot recorded a voter turnout of 71.45%. In 2013 the turnout was 66.98%, and in 2008 it was 63.69%.

In 2013, Prem Singh of INC won the seat by a margin of 10,970 votes (8.84%). Prem Singh secured 36.98% of the total votes polled.

BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 722 votes (0.76%), registering 26.24% of the total votes polled.
