Guwahati: BJP national vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Friday described the ruling Congress in Assam and the Centre as a "sinking ship of corruption" from which party MPs and legislators wanted to be bailed out. "The Congress both in the Centre and the state is a sinking ship of corruption from which the MPs and legislators of the the party want to come out", Naqvi told reporters here.
The BJP leader said the Congress in Assam is "in the ICU (infiltration-corruption-unemployment) and they seriously want a doctor to cure them of the severe ailment."
Claiming that the BJP was the only alternative for the people of Assam, the party leader said their poll promise would be good governance and corruption free administration. "We will ensure security and stability of law and order
situation in the state if voted to power", he said.
Alleging that more than 80 per cent of the fund allotted by the Centre had been swindled, the BJP leader demanded a probe into the issue.
Ruling out any post-poll alliance, Naqvi revealed that according to an internal report the party will win at least 78 of the 126 seats and form the government in Assam of its own.PAGE_BREAK
