New Delhi: In Delhi, a silent march is being held for justice for the 23-year-old braveheart who lost her life fighting a brutal gangrape. Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit is set be a part of this march, labelled as a Women's Dignity March from Bal Bhavan to Raj Ghat in the capital.
The march has been organised by the Delhi Commission for Women and other key ministers in the Delhi government, including Education Minister Kiran Walia and Transport Minister Ramakant Goswami are expected to participate in it as well.
The country has witnessed massive protests ever since the news of the brutal gangrape incident came in. The girl died after putting up a spirited fight for over 13 days, which saw her fighting against massive odds, including infection in her blood and removal of her intestines that had turned gangrenous.
Following a cardiac arrest, the girl was shifted to Singapore's Mount Elizebeth hospital. However, the girl succumbed to severe organ failure caused by the injuries to her body and died at 2.15 am on December 29.
