'Don't Wear Kurta Pyjama or Else...': JD(U) Leader's 'Pakadua Vivaah' Dig At INDIA Bloc In Bihar
An ally of NDA, JD(U) chief spokesperson Neeraj Kumar made a quirky warning appeal mocking the INDIA bloc over failure in announcing Lok Sabha candidates for some constituencies of Bihar

JD(U) leader Neeraj Kumar on Thursday took a sly jibe at the INDIA bloc warning people to avoid wearing ‘kurta-pyjama’ ( a commonly worn attire by politicians in North India) in some areas of Bihar as they will be kidnapped and made to fight Lok Sabha elections on the lines of ‘pakadua vivaah’ practice prominent in the state.

What is ‘Pakadua Vivaah’ in Bihar?

In such marriages, suitable boys are kidnapped and then forcibly married to the girl. In many districts of Bihar, employed or wealthy bachelor boys are kidnapped by the girl’s family and forced to marry her with no regard to the groom’s wishes. Though illegal, the practice is still seen in many parts of the state.

JD(U) leader Neeraj Kumar mocks INDIA bloc

INDIA bloc allies RJD and Congress have not announced the names of all their candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in Bihar. Especially, Congress has announced only three candidates despite contesting elections on nine seats and the date of closing of nominations for the second phase.

An ally of NDA, JD(U) chief spokesperson Neeraj Kumar made a quirky warning appeal mocking the INDIA bloc over the same. BJP-led NDA and Congress-led INDIA bloc are in direct competition in Bihar in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

“Do not go to the areas of Patna Sahib, Muzaffarpur, Maharajganj, Samastipur, Sasaram and West Champaran wearing kurta pajama, otherwise, you will be taken to the hero of ‘Jungle Raj’ Lalu Prasad Yadav and made the candidate of

@INCIndia. Be alert, be careful,” Kumar wrote in an X post.

Congress reacts to JD(U) leader’s remarks

Responding to Neeraj Kumar’s remark, senior Congress leader Premchand Mishra said that the condition of NDA in Bihar is bad. “All the candidates we have fielded so far are overshadowing the NDA. They (NDA leaders) are worried about the candidates who will be fielded by INDIA in future, hence out of nervousness they are venting their anger by saying such things,” he said.
