Jaipur: Congress MP from Jaipur Mahesh Joshi has asked Anna Hazare to contest election from his seat if he believes that he has mass support. However, the Congress MP termed it as an "option" and not a challenge.
Joshi said he was ready to quit the seat immediately for Anna and contest against him.
The results would make it clear who has bigger support, he said.
"In my view, the movement is going beyond democratic limits. If he believes that he has huge public support, he should contest elections and raise his voice in Parliament in a proper manner," Joshi said in Jaipur.
He said putting pressure on MPs was "undemocratic" and Anna should not have given the call to demonstrate in front of MPs' houses.
"If you (Anna) believe in democracy, then become a MP and then raise voice. Who has stopped you?" he said.
Meanwhile, a delegation of "Art of Living" met the MP at his residence on Monday morning and sought his support for the Jan Lokpal bill.
"As a Congress MP, I cannot support the Jan Lokpal Bill and I have made it clear to the people who visited me," he said.
