New Delhi: The Government on Wednesday reached out to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Pension Bill, promising to accommodate her concerns.

Mamata Banerjee had opposed 26 per cent FDI in retail. Sources say that some of her demands are likely to be accepted.

Sources also say that government is keen to table the Pension Bill on Thursday, though it is not listed yet.

The Government withdrew the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority Bill, 2011 after Mamata wrote to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh raising certain objections.

The Bill, slated to be introduced in Parliament on Wednesday, was withdrawn on Tuesday night.

This was the second time in Parliament's winter session that Mamata had forced the Government to withdraw an important decision.

Earlier, she had forced the Government to suspend the decision to introduce foreign direct investment in retail.
