Anand (Gujarat): Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar had a close door meeting at the latter's ashram in Anklavdi village on Saturday.
According to officials of the Chief Minister's office, the meeting, which lasted over 40 minutes, was held to discuss programmes to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
Ashram spokesperson Mehul Sharma told reporters that Modi had come to Anklavdi for meditation and it was a personal meeting.
"Modi came for a courtesy visit. Whenever Guruji (Ravi Shankar) is in Gujarat, Modi visits him," Sharma said.
"Guruji does meditation in the morning and Modi also joined him. There was nothing political about the meeting."
Congress leader Digvijay Singh had recently alleged that while Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare were "Plan A and B" of the RSS and the BJP, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was "Plan C".
