Thiruvananthapuram: After Congress MLA TN Prathapan decided not to contest this elections to give opportunity to youngsters, Kerala Congress chief VM Sudheeran has said that people like VS Achuthanandan should also think of not contesting polls.
The Congress leader said that Achuthanandan, who has been Chief Minister, opposition leader and MLA, can model himself on people like Prathapan and think of not contesting.
The 93-year-old veteran communist leader shot back through a press release stating that it is due to the KPCC president's 'lack of Guts' to tell this directly to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy that he is dragging his name into the issue. Achuthanandan also said that he is contesting as per his party's decision and Sudheeran does not have to worry about that.
Sudheeran, in his reply, said that public is wondering why people like Achuthanandan are not ready to stop their greed for power and positions. The Congress leader further said that he was only conveying that with respect, and there was no need for Achuthanandan to get so agitated.
