After Bharatiya Janata Party, Aam Aadmi Party leader is now embroiled in controversy involving former Indian Premier League chief Lalit Modi. Modi has tweeted a letter addressed to him by AAP leader Rahul Mehra seeking favours to get exclusive food and beverage rights for all eight IPL stadiums for the second IPL and future seasons.
The letter dates back to October 2008.
Mehra in his letter had not only referred to his long relation with Modi since 2003-04, but he also praised the former IPL chief for his passion for the game.
The tweets came as AAP has been demanding resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia for helping Modi.
Sushma had triggered a controversy by admitting to having no objection to Modi’s request to travel out of the United Kingdom for his wife’s treatment. She admitted to having spoken to British MP Keitz Vaz and the British High Commission in this regard.
Another BJP who came in the line of fire is Vasundhara Raje who signed documents to help Modi get UK stay permit in 2011 when she was the leader of opposition in the state Assembly. The Chief Minister claimed that she helped him as a friend.
