A number of MPs and MLAs have come under scrutiny for not clearing meagre amounts due with the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Corporation.

New Delhi: A number of MPs and MLAs have come under scrutiny for not clearing meagre amounts due with the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Corporation. According to an RTI query, Congress's Mani Shankar Aiyar and BJP's Shanta Kumar amongst others could not pay the bills of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Corporation after availing boarding and lodging facilities.

Other MPs who defaulted on the same count are Virender Kashyap(Congress MP), Rajan Sushant(BJP MP), Pratibha Singh(Congress MP and wife of Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh), Bimla Kashyap(BJP MP), Chander Kumar(Ex-Congress MP), Suresh Bhardwaj(Ex-BJP MP).

The information has been revealed through an RTI filed by Debasish Bhattacharya. A Himachal minister GS Bali released the payment of one of his bills after 11 years while Harsh Mahajan, ex-MLA of Himachal Pradesh released a meagre amount of Rs 1995 after 22 years.
