Miffed by Mamata, Bengal interlocutors quit

Kolkata: The Interlocutors appointed by the West Bengal government to mediate with Maoists have resigned from their posts.

This came after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee issued orders to intensify joint force operations in Jungle Mahal.

The pro-dialogue interlocutors did not agree with the opinion of the chief minister.

Banerjee, in a memorial event for two Trinamool workers gunned down by Maoists, on Wednesday, had hit out at the Maoists, calling them criminals.
