With the Narendra Modi government completing two years in office, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance has gone into a celebration mode. Claiming that the last two years have been very good for the country BJP president Amit Shah on Friday announced that the festivities known as "Vikas Parv" would continue for the next 15 days.
"We will go to the people with work done by the NDA government in the last two years for the next 15 days. Over 30 teams have been formed to inform the people about the good work done by the government. The Prime Minister was in Saharanpur yesterday and is in Shillong today. He will also go to Odisha and Karnataka,” said Shah in New Delhi.
Taking on the opposition parties particularly the Congress, Shah pointed out that after several years of scams by the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), the country had finally a government which cannot be accused of indulging in corruption.
“Narendra Modi has after a long time given a decisive government to the country. The poorest of the poor in this country have benefited from the government’s financial inclusion schemes. Even the opposition cannot accuse us of corruption,” he said.
Listing out the achievements of Modi government, Shah claimed that the security environment had become better and security forces have given a befitting reply to attacks in Kashmir Valley and other insurgency-affected regions of the country.
“Modi government gave hope to the country after the policy paralysis and dispirited bureaucracy which the UPA left the country with. The government revived India’s economy when the world wrote us off. We have done a lot of work in the last two year but a lot has to be done in the next three years,” he added.
According to Shah inclusive development, job creation for youth, social initiatives such as “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”, One Rank One Pension for retired defence personnel, and increase in FDI are some of the highlights of Modi’s two years in power.
