NCP leader Tariq Anwar, who was elected to Lok Sabha, has quit his Rajya Sabha seat.
Mumbai: NCP on Monday named former union minister Praful Patel as its candidate for the Rajya Sabha election in Maharashtra slated for June 19.
The decision to field Patel was taken at a meeting of the NCP Parliamentary Board here, party sources said. Patel will file his nomination on June 5.
NCP leader Tariq Anwar, who was elected to Lok Sabha, has quit his Rajya Sabha seat.
Patel, who represented Bhandara-Gondiya constituency in 15th Lok Sabha, lost to Nana Patole of BJP in recent elections.
