Bhubaneswar: Amidst demands for his arrest for giving a provocative speech at a Congress rally on September 6, Congress Leader Jagdish Tytler will meet Minister of State of PMO Narayanasamy in Bhubaneshwar on Thursday.
This comes nearly a week after the state Congress leaders clashed with policemen outside the Assembly and injured several, including a woman constable.
Two police organisations and the ruling BJD have demanded arrest of Tytler accusing him of instigating partymen to attack the police and assault a woman constable during the September 6 rally.
The Odisha government, which was examining charges against him did not say anything about its next course of action.
The Odisha Police have registered cases against Tytler and others under section 147 (rioting), 148 Rioting with deadly weapons), 149 (unlawful assembly), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant), 353 (assault of public servant), 354 (assault on women with intent to outrage modesty), 506 (criminal intimidation), 307 (attempt to murder) and 120 (B)(criminal conspiracy) of IPC.
Tytler was accused of inciting the workers during his speech, he has, however, denied the allegations and is expected to address the media later on Thursday. Narayanasamy is also expected to address a press conference in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
