Orissa land allotment: Patnaik promises probe
This came after former Orissa urban development minister K V Singhdeo said that he was ready to face probe.

Bhubaneswar: Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday promised a probe after a Cobrapost-IBN investigation showed how bureaucrats and judges were allotted flats under his ministers' discretionary quota.

This came hours after former Orissa urban development minister K V Singhdeo said that he was ready to face probe in the land allotment controversy.

An investigation by Cobrapost and IBN Network had revealed how former and sitting judges of Orissa, police officers and bureaucrats received flats from the discretionary quota of ministers.

As a matter of fact, successive Urban Development Ministers in the Naveen Patnaik government misused the discretionary housing quota.

According to the revelation, the judges got the 'minister quota' flats out of turn and at cheaper rates.

The IBN Network accessed letters of judges written to the government asking for prime property in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
