PAC members stop Joshi from tabling 2G report
Once the Speaker has rejected it, the report can't be brought again, said Congress members.

New Delhi: The Public Accounts Committee members on Tuesday didn't allow PAC Chairman Murli Manohar Joshi to table the 2G report during the PAC meeting.

Joshi wanted to bring in the 2G report, but Congress members of the PAC raised objections that once the Speaker has rejected it, the report can't be brought again.

Objecting tabling of the 2G report, the Congress said that the report had been rejected by a majority, and did not exist any more. If Joshi's version was right and he adjourned the meeting due to 'disorderly behaviour of members', then what did he send to the Speaker? There was nothing for him to send. The JPC has already considered the issue.

"Why senior members are not following Parliamentary procedures, when PAC report on 2G has been rejected by PAC members, And tenure of old PAC is over and New PAC has comes in existence, then why they are trying to review this report again, When JPC is going through this issue then what is the point to raise this issue again and again," said Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari.

"The Government should make CAG report public. At the time of commencement of the audit, gas projects audit was done when the ministry had asked for it. But the Government trying to manipulate it and the report should be presented before Parliament," said Murli Manohar Joshi.

"I Request PM to instruct his ministers to act swiftly on any inquiries relating to corruption," said the PAC Chairman.

"CAG and PAC are watch dogs according to the Government, but whichever exposes corruption becomes the black sheep," he added.
