New Delhi: After the National Judicial Appointments Commission, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is planning another revamp aiming to scrap 72 obsolete laws. The Modi government had set up a committee for the repeal of the laws, to be cleared by Parliament.
Most of the laws recommended by the panel date back to the period between 1838 to 1898. These include a number of Appropriation Acts which the government feels have lost their relevance.
The law panel said that it would complete its study and submit a number of volumes to the government for necessary action.
