Mumbai: Political parties in Maharashtra are busy blaming each other for the Pune bomb blast.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena on Monday walked out of an all-party meeting called by Chief Minister Ashok Chavan to discuss the Pune blast.
Justifying his party's decision to stage the walk out, Shiv Sena leader Manohar Joshi accused Chavan of not giving any satisfactory reply on the blast case.
"We boycotted the meeting because the people in Pune have been killed. It's the responsibility of the government to save the lives of the people. We have the right to live as per the Indian Constitution. We raised the issue of Pune incident; no satisfactory reply was given by the Chief Minister and we have no alternative than to stage a walkout," said Joshi.
However, Congress accused BJP and Shiv Sena of playing politics.
"The Opposition is politicising terrorism. They have been doing this for the last 10 years. This is why they have lost public favour," said Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam.
Nirupam also claimed that the intelligence inputs had not named German Bakery as a possible target.
"We had received specific intelligence inputs from Centre that Osho Ashram and Chabad House could be targeted. But German Bakery and the Italian restaurant were not named," he said.
Earlier, Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray blamed Chavan for the tragic blast on Saturday evening that killed nine people and left 60 others injured.
"It is the sin of Chavan that killed nine innocents in the terror attack," Uddhav wrote in Sena mouthpiece Saamana on Sunday.
