Chennai: Indicating that his party would continue its ties with the Congress-led UPA alliance, Union Health Minister and PMK youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss said on Friday that the UPA combine would win the Lok Sabha polls.
"UPA than varapokuthu" (UPA will come back to power), he said in Tamil, speaking at a press meet in Chennai, amid reports that his party might align with the AIADMK for the polls.
The minister said the PMK General Council would meet soon to decide on the electoral strategy. Ramadoss said his "major achievement" as health minister was the introduction of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) which all future governments would continue.
The party would conduct a youth conference in Chennai the next day, in which a pledge would be administered against smoking, liquor, dowry, terrorism and actors fan clubs, he said.
He said Tamil Nadu topped the list in sale of liquor and most youths had become addicts. His party would create awareness among the youth against liquor, he said.
