Solar scam accused sentenced to life for killing his first wife

Thiruvananthapuram: Solar scam accused Biju Radhakrishnan was sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering his first wife Reshmi. His mother Rajammal who was found guilty of dowry harassment was sentenced to three years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000.

The sentence was pronounced by the Kollam Principal district and sessions court Judge Ashok Menon. Biju Radhakrishnan pleaded in the court to give him death penalty as he was being framed in the case.

The court observed that Biju's mother being a teacher should have been a role model to the society but she was neither a good mother, mother-in-law nor a good grandmother.
