New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh may have to wait for a while as to know who will be the next chief minister - Mulayam Singh Yadav or Akhilesh - after the Samajwadi Party decided to take the all-important decision after Holi. Sources said that the Samajwadi Party's legislative will meet after Holi to decide on the post heir.
Speaking to CNN-IBN, Akhilesh said, "No decision yet on who will be the next chief minister. It is possible there might be another party meeting after three days. As of now, there is no interaction with the winning candidates," he said.
Earlier, sources said that Mulayam Singh Yadav is likely to nominate his son Akhilesh as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh after the party stormed to power in the state with a stunning majority routing Mayawati-led BSP, making this the biggest win in the state in 27 years.
