Mulayam Singh Yadav will be meeting the left leaders at a national convention in Delhi on October 30.

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav has yet again sparked off another round of talks about the formation of a third front. He said that he has been in talks with the Left and a third front could be formed post 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

"Third front could be formed after elections, it can't be formed before election. We are in conversation with Prakash Karat," Mulayam said.

The CPIM politburo members are also holding a two-day meet in New Delhi attempts to bring all non-Congress, non-BJP parties on a common platform ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

In its effort to forge a broad platform on people's issues that could be used later for the polls, CPI(M) is organising a national convention 'in defence of secularism' in Delhi on October 30, in which top Left leaders, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, JD(U) President Sharad Yadav and others are likely to participate.

The meet is also discussing preparations for polls in five states besides the strategy to bring together non-Congress, non-BJP parties on a common platform before next year's general elections.

Mulayam had on Friday said that he will meet CPI-M general secretary Prakash Karat later in October and hold discussions on possibilities of formation of a Third Front. He also said his party always fought communal forces and its main struggle is against BJP.
