34. Thorang is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Mizoram and is part of Mizoram Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Thorang falls in Lunglei district and South region of Mizoram. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 13,175 voters in the seat, which includes 6,789 male voters, and 6,386 female voters. In the 2018 Mizoram elections, Thorang recorded a voter turnout of 86.12%. In 2013 the turnout was 87.9%, and in 2008 it was 87%.
In 2013, Zodintluanga of INC won the seat by a margin of 2,504 votes (23.06%). Zodintluanga secured 59.15% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 1,829 votes (19.07%), registering 46.31% of the total votes polled.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, INC led in the Thorang Assembly segment of the Mizoram Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.
