Chennai: In her second cabinet reshuffle since her government took over in May, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Sunday dropped Law Minister E Subbiah from the Council of Ministers and redesignated some others, including Food Minister Agri SS Krishnamoorthy.
While Information Minister G Senthamizhan has been given charge of Law, Courts and Prisons, Personnel and Administrative Reforms and prevention of Corruption, hitherto held by Subbiah, Kadayanallur MLA P Chendur Pandian has been inducted into the cabinet as Minister for Khadi and Village Industries, a Raj Bhavan press release here said.
The changes were announced by Governor Surjit Singh Barnala on the 'advice' of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. The swearing in ceremony will be held on Monday.
Krishnamoorthy has been designated as Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration in place of Gokula Indira, who is now Minister for Tourism.
Tourism Minister Budhichandran is the Minister for Food.
Earlier, the cabinet was reshuffled on June 27 when A Mohammed John was included as Minister and the portfolios of some of the Ministers were changed.
