The Akhilesh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh has gone for a reshuffle by sacking as many as eight ministers and changing the portfolio of nine of them. Those sacked include five ministers of cabinet rank and three of junior profile.
The ministers who have been sacked are Raja Mahendra Aridaman Singh, Ambika Chaudhary, Shiv Kumar Beria, Narad Rai, Shivakant Ojha, Alok Kumar Shakya, Yogesh Pratap Singh and Bhagwat Sharan Gangwar.
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has taken the additional charge of all the ministries vacated due to termination of the ministers.
Acting on the second recommendation of the government, Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik has ordered the removal of Ahmed Hasan, Avadhesh Prasad, Parasnath Yadav, Ram Govind Chaudhary, Durga Prasad Yadav, Bramhashankar Tripathi, Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya, Iqbal Mehmood, Mehboob Ali from their respective portfolio. While these ministers will remain on their profile without portfolio, there ministries will be taken care of by the Chief Minister himself.
The Governor is expected to preside over the oath taking ceremony of new ministers at 10.30 am on Saturday.
