Lucknow: The Gandhi Siblings will be back on the campaign trail in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, the last day of campaigning for the second phase of assembly elections.
While Congress general secretary will be wooing voters in Mirzapur, his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the star campaigner of the party, will be in Amethi again.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also set to campaign with the big names in the party holding rallies across the state.
Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley, will be addressing rallies in Ghazipur and Sultanpur. He will be accompanied by party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad.
Senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi will be in Allahabad and former party chief Rajnath Singh will be in Kushinagar.
This comes a day after the first phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday which recorded 62 per cent turnout after a sluggish start due to rain.
Polling was held in 55 constituencies spread over 10 districts - Sitapur, Barabanki, Faizabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Gonda, Siddharth Nagar and Basti amidst tight security arrangements. The candidates included 796 men, 65 women and one eunuch.
The first phase of elections for the 403-member assembly is slated to seal the fate of two ministers, 31 MLAs and 15 former ministers.
