Jaunpur: In a security scare, a 40-year-old man on Thursday jumped in front of the cavalcade of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi to draw his attention to alleged grabbing of his land by some local political heavyweights.
As security personnel rushed to push Sanjay Prajapati out of the way, the Congress leader calmly got down from his vehicle and asked his Special Protection Group (SPG) officers to allow Prajapati to come near him, party sources said.
After listening to the man's grievances, Rahul assured him of help in solving his problem.
The Congress general secretary then boarded his vehicle and left along with his cavalcade to other villages of the district.
Last month, a youth carrying a pistol was detained while attempting to enter a ground in the Congress scion's home constituency Amethi where Rahul Gandhi was addressing a public meeting.
