UPA govt's reverse countdown has started: Badal
Badal appealed to people to lay the foundation of change by voting in large numbers in the October 13 Hisar bypolls.

Hisar: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday alleged the Congress-led UPA government had failed in all fronts and its "reverse countdown" had begun.

Badal appealed to people to lay the "foundation of change" by voting in large numbers in the October 13 Hisar bypolls and ousting the Congress government.

"Dont think that the polls are taking place for just the seat of Hisar. It is an election of India's future, your thinking should not be limited to just this seat, but you have to lay foundation for change," Badal said, addressing a gathering on the occasion of Indian National Lok Dal's 'Samman Divas' rally.

The rally was organised on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former deputy prime minister, Devi Lal.

Former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala's son and party general secretary Ajay Singh is contesting the bypolls from here. His main rivals include Congress' Jai Prakash and HJC-BJP's Kuldeep Bishnoi.

Launching a scathing attack on the Congress-led UPA,Badal said, "Its reverse countdown has begun. It has failed to deliver on all fronts, Poverty, price rise and unemployment have increased during the Congress regime. You (voters) have to give fatwa (verdict) to oust this government," he said.
