New Delhi: Team Anna member Kiran Bedi on Sunday claimed that the government has cheated people by presenting a weak Lokpal draft, saying "we never wanted 'inquirypal' but investigatingpal".
"I hope the Parliament will reject the report of the Standing Committee on Lokpal bill. Hope we get a strong Lokpal Bill and see the dawn of a true democracy," Bedi said.
Anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare began his day-long token fast at Jantar Mantar to press for a strong Lokpal Bill on Sunday.
In her first speech on Sunday, Kiran Bedi said,"Government is not leaving CBI because they know that CBI has documents aganist them."
"We want the sunrise that is corruption free. We want a strong Lokpal that ensures 'Sewa' and not 'Mewa'. We will not rest till we get a strong Lokpal. Mass agitation will continue," she said.
Bedi said, "Talks for need of a system to fight aganist corruption has been there since the time of Nehruji, way back in 1962, but there has been no answers till now."
