Kolkata: Six people have been injured in clashes between Left and TMC in Jalpaiguri in the fifth phase of West Bengal panchayat polls on Thursday. Clashes have also been reported in Cooch Behar.
Voting for the fifth and last phase of the panchayat polls is underway in the four districts in West Bengal. The voting is underway in South Dinajpur, North Dinajpur, Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri districts in West Bengal.
More than 50,000 officials have been deployed to ensure that the polls are conducted smoothly.
The five-phased panchayat polls that began on July 11 has seen a lot of upheaval, bloodshed and violence throughout.
