New Delhi: Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Monday refused to change his stand on leaving the BJP. “There is no change in my earlier stand. I have already decided to launch a new regional party. No change on that. The Chief Minister and the Home Minister met me and I told them also that I am going to launch a new party. It’s too late now, I have decided already,” he said.
BJP's national leaders would meet senior state party leaders on October 30 in New Delhi to work out a strategy to placate party strongman Yeddyurappa and ensure that he does not quit the party, BJP state president KS Eshwarappa had said. "Some important party leaders from Karnataka would meet central leaders at New Delhi on October 30 to iron out a strategy to placate Yeddyurappa and ensure he does not desert the party," he said.
Angry over being neglected by the top brass after his ouster as Chief Minister, Yeddyurappa had earlier this month announced that he would quit BJP by December and float a new party.
