Vijay Sethupathi proved his versatility by starring in this heart-touching film by national award-winning director Thiagarajan Kumararaja. The actor breathed life into the transgender character named Shilpa and delivered such a hard-hitting performance that he earned the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. Shilpa’s rage, longing, and compassion were portrayed beautifully by Sethupathi. Fahadh Faasil, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Ramya Krishnan played important parts.

Soodhu Kavvum (2013)
Under Nalan Kumaraswamy’s direction, Vijay gave one of his most outstandingly superb performances in this dark comedy-thriller. His portrayal of Das, a kidnapper with a conscience was just brilliant. In the film, Das and his kidnapping team take a politician’s son hostage, only to find out that he was planning his own kidnapping to extract money from his father.

Pizza is a horror thriller that catapulted Vijay’s stardom. The story narrates the story of a pizza delivery boy Micheal Karthikeyan aka Sethupathi who finds himself in a mysterious situation during a pizza delivery that changes his life forever.
