Google India paid tribute to the legendary scientist Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose by dedicating a Doodle on its homepage to mark his 158th birthday. The Doodle shows Jagdish Chandra Bose in his laboratory with his invention- crescograph, a device for measuring growth in plants. He had invented it in the early 20th century.

Born on November 30, 1858, in Mymensingh (now a part of Bangladesh), he studied Physics at Calcutta University after which he had attended Cambridge University for a BSc degree and returned to India in 1984.

In 2008, the Historical Electronics Museum in Baltimore celebrated the life and work of the scientist on the 150th year of his birth by inducting him into Pioneers Hall of the Museum with a permanent exhibit.
