How To Block Admins On WhatsApp Groups: Follow This Quick Guide
Blocking the admins of a WhatsApp group was a much-requested feature, and now that you can easily do so, here's a guide on how to do it.

There is hardly any messaging application that can match the popularity of WhatsApp. The Meta-owned platform has seen a number of modifications over the last few years. Channels have been introduced, enabling users to stay updated about their favorite topics. Meta has also brought some changes to security features and privacy settings, not only for individual chats but also for WhatsApp groups. One of those important features is blocking the admins of a group.

Admins are seen as leaders of a WhatsApp group as they only have the right to add or remove a participant. But if the normal members want to block any admin without leaving the group, they can now do it with ease.

However, the method is different for anonymous people and those who are added to the phone’s contacts.

If an Android or iOS user wants to block a WhatsApp group admin, whose number is not available on the phone book, he or she needs to follow these steps:

– Go to that particular WhatsApp group chat.

– Tap or click on the group name.

– Visit the members’ list and find the name of the admin you want to block.

– From the pop-up window, click on Message (phone number).

– The individual chatbox with the admin will appear on the screen.

– Click on the number displayed at the top of the chat screen.

– Scroll up, and you will find the option to block.

The way to block an admin is not the same if the person exists in the phone’s contact. In this case, Android and iOS users need to follow separate methods due to the differences in the interface of the WhatsApp applications.

For Android Users:

– Open WhatsApp and go to More Options from the three-dot menu.

– Tap on Settings and Account.

– An option saying “Privacy” will appear on the next page.

– Under Privacy, go to Blocked Contacts.

– Click on the “+” sign.

– Tap the name of the admin as saved in your phone.

For iOS Users:

– Visit WhatsApp and open Settings.

– Go to the “Privacy” option and tap “Blocked”.

– Click on “Add New”.

– Key in the name of the admin as it is written on the contact list.

People who use WhatsApp Web on computers can also follow the same steps as Android users.
