The Meta-owned photo and video sharing social networking platform Instagram recently rolled out a new update, which allow users to posts and reels exclusively with a select group of friends.
The new feature, highlighted by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, gives users greater control over their privacy. With the addition of Stories and Notes, users can tailor their content for a more personalised sharing experience.
Opting to share posts and reels exclusively with their Close Friends list ensures that only members of this select group have access to view Stories, likes, and comments.
Users can now access the feature on the stable version of the app, available for both Android and iOS devices. If you don’t see the feature yet, be patient, as it might be on its way. Check for updates, and you should have it soon. To share your Instagram reels and posts with close friends, follow this simple guide:
How to Share Reels with Close Friends
– Create Your Post: Open the latest version of the Instagram app and tap the Plus(+) button at the bottom center. Create your post, whether it’s a photo or reel, and then tap Next.
– Select Close Friends: On the final Share page, tap the Audience tab. You’ll see two options: Everyone and Close Friends. Tap the circle next to Close Friends to select it.
– Share Your Post: Finally, tap Done and then Share in the top right corner. Your Instagram post or reel will now only be visible to your close friends. They’ll see a green Close Friends icon at the top right corner of the post, indicating that it’s meant for their close circle.
In related news, the Meta-owned Instagram is also testing a new feature, allowing users to react and respond to notes in DMs using audio, photo, video, gifs, and stickers.
