New Delhi: It was last month when Amit Boni in an interview with IBNLive revealed that the Moto X Force (claimed to be the world's first shatterproof phone) will be launched in India in January 2016, without revealing the exact India launch date.

Now, according to our source with information on the Moto X Force India launch plans, the phone wouldn't be launched in January but is scheduled for February 2. A Motorola India spokesperson has previously confirmed to IBNLive that the launch would happen in the first week of February, but refused to reveal the exact date.

The Moto X Force will be the most premium Motorola phone in the Indian market since its re-entry to the Indian market. Our source says that Motorola is planning at pricing the phone at around Rs 50,000, which is a good Rs 20,000 higher than its existing flagship phone in the Indian market - the Moto X Style. However, given Motorola's past record of pricing its devices for the Indian market, we would expect it to be priced between Rs 40,000 and Rs 45,000.

IBNLive has also learnt that the X Force was initially scheduled to be launched for the Indian market between January 10 and 16.

We have reached out to Motorola India asking for their comments on the launch date and price quoted by our source.

The Moto X Force uses the Moto ShatterShield display technology, which is said to be an integrated system consisting of five layers designed from materials that absorb shock from impact and are guaranteed not to shatter.

The phone further includes TurboPower charging, which the company claims can give users up to 13 hours of power in just 15 minutes. It is said to give users up to 48 hours of battery life on a single charge.

This smartphone is being sold in the US by the name of the Droid Turbo 2, but it will be launched as Moto X Force in India and other international markets.
