New Delhi: OnePlus announced today its latest flagship smartphone – the OnePlus 2- for a price starting Rs 22,999. The OnePlus One successor boasts of some powerful features which the company claims won’t be available on other devices until the newest version of Google’s Android OS, the Android M, is released.

Price
OnePlus 2 has been priced at Rs 22,999 for 16GB model and Rs 24,999 for the 64GB variant. Overseas, it has been priced at $329 and $389 for the two variants.
Availability
The flagship smartphone will start selling in the US, India, Canada, EU, and China from August 11. It will roll out in Southeast Asia in Q4 of 2015. However, only the 64GB model will be made available on the said date and the 16GB OnePlus 2 is expected to arrive at a later date.
Specs
OnePlus summarized its OnePlus 2 smartphone in four parts: better specs than any other flagship smartphones; improved camera; premium design; and innovations from the future.
The Android/Oxygen OS-based smartphone comes with a large 5.5-inch HD display that offers contrast ratio of 1500:1 which simply means colour will appear more vibrant and rich on the screen. The phone is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor combined with 4GB RAM. It comes with an internal storage option of 16GB or 64GB.
One of the highlights OnePlus boasts of the new handset is its camera. The 13 megapixel rear camera comes with a sensor pixel size of 1.3 microns, which the company says is 35 per cent larger than standard smartphone cameras.
Others
OnePlus 2 also comes with a couple of new features like the USB Type-C reversible port for charging and external output. It is one of the first flagship smartphones to come with the feature. The smartphone features a fingerprint sensor that can store up to five unique fingerprints.
OnePlus has included a new Alert Slider in the OnePlus 2 which is a dedicated hardware switch at the sides of the device to control notification settings.
