Refurbished Note 7 Coming Back to South Korea in June

Samsung's Galaxy Note 7, which rendered a major blow to the company’s otherwise shiny record, will reportedly hit the shelves in South Korea in June.

After a global recall by Samsung, there were speculations that the South Korean technology giant will sell refurbished units of Galaxy Note 7 sans the faulty batteries.

The company has, however, rubbished these reports, but is finally mulling to do so only in March.

According to a report, the first batch of refurbished Samsung Galaxy Note 7 units will be launched via three carriers in South Korea by as early as June.

The refurbished Galaxy Note 7 devices would pack in a smaller 3,200 mAh battery as opposed to the original 3,500 mAh, according to ETNews.

The company has been quoted as saying that the newly-launched Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus devices would undergo Samsung’s new eight-point safety check. It is yet to be known whether the Note 7 would house the batteries that had undergone the safety check.What caused the Note 7 explosions

A Samsung Electronics Co Ltd investigation into what caused some Galaxy Note 7 smartphones to catch fire in January concluded that the battery was the main reason.

Samsung had later announced a recall of some 2.5 million Note 7 phones in September and identified the cause of the fire as a manufacturing process problem at one of its suppliers.
