Snapdeal in partnership with Kutumb and Drishti Foundation had hosted an event for underprivileged kids at its Gurgaon campus.

Under their #UnboxSharing campaign, Snapdeal created special zonesfor the children where they enjoyed quizzes and fun activities like wall-painting and photo sessions. Snapdeal gifted bicycles to the young school children who often have to walk vast distances to reach their educational institutions.

A batch of 16-20 year old students also got the opportunity to interact with Snapdeal’s senior leadership team, who held motivational sessions, inspiring them to unbox their potential. Dwelling on their own struggles, the leadership team shared stories of their initial days as entrepreneurs and how they kept themselves motivated to unlock great possibilities.

Snapdeal also partnered with NGOs likeGive India, Drishti Foundation, CARE, HelpAge India, AADI, Tamana, TARAgramto set up Diwali stalls where employees gathered to purchase hand-made products prepared by the NGO residents. The enthusiastic contributions by Snapdeal employeesat these ‘Awarenesss Stalls’will be sent to Palna, a unit of the Delhi Council for Child Welfare and EkPrayasEkPahal.

The initiative endeavoured to give back and bring Snapdeal family together to support social causes through in-kind donation. The one-day event was a part of the month long Diwali engagement activities at Snapdeal, keeping the enthusiasm and zeal alive during the busiest time of the year at work.

Snapdeal has been focusing strongly on driving in-kind donation through its platform – Snapdeal Sunshine. Over the past few months, the platform has received tremendous response from customers, for some of their initiatives like the ‘India Says Thank You’ where well-wishers shared 20,845 ‘Happiness Boxes’ to soldiers in the Indian Army and Navy.

An initiative by 21Fools — an organization that makes plantable paper products for a better world, this campaign enabled people to express their gratitude and send wishes, around the period of Independence Day and Rakshabandhan.

The collected ‘Happiness Boxes’ sent to various site locations advised by The Indian Army and Navywere further distributed to the soldiers. Each Happiness Box contained a Gratitude Letter, with the sender’s name,a Thank You Seed Paper Card, A Rakhi and an 'I Love India' Luggage Tag. The special Seed Paper card was infused with seeds during the pulping process and when planted can grow into different varieties of herbs and plants.

The true beauty of sharing lay in the mutual joy that Snapdeal Sunshine received, when the brave soldiers stationed across the country from Leh to Kochi, penned down their gratitude for their well-wishers in hundreds of postcards.

As part of the “Joy of Giving” campaign that kicked off on 2nd October at Snapdeal, the online marketplace further facilitated the donation of more than 2,50,000 stationery kits to underprivileged students in partnership with Intex Technologies and Coca Cola India. Snapdeal’s online donation platform Snapdeal Sunshine had tied up with leading NGOs - Teach for India, Oxfam India, Goonj, Give India, Care, World Vision India, Bhumi and Centre for Community Initiative to channelize these donations.
