South Korean electronics giant Samsung on December 8 officially announced the launch of 'Black Pearl' coloured variant of the massively popular Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Earlier, speculations were rife in China about the new glossy black coloured model.
Rumours about the black coloured model first came to the fore in November. Specifications-wise, the Pearl Black variant of Galaxy S7 Edge is said to be similar to other S7 Edge models, except for the amount of storage it packs in - 128GB.
In a press release, Samsung announced the launch but refrained from saying which markets were selected for this launch; the price is not mentioned either. Also, it seems like the Samsung Galaxy S7 is not getting the Black Pearl treatment.
With the new Black Pearl variant, the Galaxy S7 Edge can now be had in a total of seven colours, which are Blue Coral, Pink Gold, White Pearl, Black Onyx, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium. All of them, however, will not be available at every retailer.
The difference is between the Black Onyx version and the new Black Pearl S7 Edge, is the latter's full-body black design including the metal edges. According to Samsung, the Black Pearl colour gives more depth to the back glass which 'captures the essence of the colour in its purest form' and 'radiates quality and luxury'.
