Emojis - those small icons implying many a great emotions in the modern world have taken over everyday conversation by storm. So much so that these emojis have not only become the word of the year , but are also considered acceptable even in formal communication like emails and newsletters.
Officially marking July 17 as the World Emoji Day, microblogging service Twitter has released a GIF that summarises which emojis were used the most in a given month. February - the month of love - sees the maximum of double hearts, while October is for Halloween ghosts.

Emojis have come a long way from being the mini icons or characters supporting a conversation to becoming the conversation in today's world. From Facebook to Twitter to WhatsApp, technology giants are also putting in special efforts to ensure these emojis reflect the sentiments of the larger community.
