Xiaomi is set for a foldable bonanza this week as it confirms the launch of its first flip phone along with the new Mix Fold 4 model at a launch event in China. Xiaomi will be joining the likes of Oppo, Vivo, Samsung and Honor in the flip foldable arena. The Mix Flip will be launching on July 19 where we will see the fourth-gen Mix Fold version roll out and hopefully these devices will get a wider launch than the previous versions.
Xiaomi Mix Flip Launch In July – What We Know
Xiaomi is bringing the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset to the Mix Flip version as well. The same hardware is going to power the Mix Fold 4 and is already available with the Xiaomi 14 series. The other big highlight is going to be the addition of the Leica-engineered camera system. Going by the teasers, we are hoping that Xiaomi brings 14 Ultra-like cameras to its foldable range.
We can also expect a large 4-inch cover display for the Mix Flip which could support third-party apps like the Oppo Find N3 Flip offers, making them more functional than what Samsung offers with its flip devices.
Knowing the brand, we don’t see the Mix Flip missing out on the premium bells and whistles, including a 3D vapour cooling chamber. And yes, the battery ought to support fast charging, another aspect that the main brands are yet to provide for their products.
The Mix Flip sounds like an intriguing product but we’ll get more details and its price at the launch event on Friday. Till then, we are hopeful that both Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 and the Mix Flip come to India in the foreseeable future.
