Actor Chintan Rachh who rose to fame with Netflix web series Class, wowed viewers and critics with his role as a Kashmiri guy. Chintan is now preparing for his upcoming ventures and has high hopes of making it big in the entertainment industry. During a recent interview, the actor revealed that he was approached for a significant role in the popular TV series Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Additionally, he also shared about certain expectations from him as an actor, which he had been grappling with.
In an interview with ETimes, speaking about being given a chance to work on Ekta Kapoor’s Bade Achhe Lagte Hain before he starred in Class, Chintan said, “The makers did get in touch with me, but I didn’t want to do TV shows, I wanted to do indie films.”
Apart from that, Chintan had been facing questions related to his weight. He shared that many people have requested that he gain weight, join the gym, etc but he himself does not want to do this. He mentioned that he has been following a diet and wants to stick to it. He stated, “You see a lot of actors looking alike, I want to look like me.” Chintan added that he wants to work but does not feel it necessary to change his looks in order to secure it. His aim is to do something that no other actor would comprehend.
He shared that this attitude got him the role in Class. “I was offered work, but I wanted to try something very different. How many actors would like to make their debut with something like this? Not many! but I wanted to do it. It was an unconventional role, and I don’t want to be conventional, “said Chintan.
Chintan captivated viewers when he played Faruq Manzoor in Netflix’s Class. Chintan’s emotional portrayal of Faruq earned him not only acclaim but also a devoted fan base overnight. The crime drama thriller series was adapted by Ashim Ahluwalia and based on the Spanish series Elite. The series was created by Bodhi Tree Multimedia and Future East Film. The series delves into a variety of social concerns affecting modern youth, such as casteism, corruption, homophobia, and income disparities in India among other issues. Chintan Rachh has been active in theatre since he was in school and hopes to play substantial characters in a variety of mediums.
